Well some kids never forget that little work of art and continue too think about it even when there all grown up. That awesome feel of rolling down a hill out of control until you lock up the pedals and that wheel starts to slide and the back end starts to come around-Holy Mole, I get a little teary eyed just thinking about it. That the first real taste of speed a young person gets and for some it never leaves them.
Well, Since I’m on my way for a Looong weekend trip to the “worlds center of speed” , Daytona International Speedway, I thought this would be a good time to show off this sweet ditty. Independently designed and built by Wayne Fjerstad of Rochester, MN, this monster is the best of both worlds; take granny down to the corner store for some eggs and milk by morning, tear up the track in the afternoon or look “Playa-Playa” at your local solid gold’s by night.
Veloce means fast in Italian and this is what this machine was bred to be! The Veloce features a CBR1000rr Honda engine with 998cc and 155 horsepower, 6 Speed transmission with custom built reverse gearbox, C4 corvette part front suspension with Harley V-Rod Coil-Overs, Custom built rear Mono Arm suspension w/ QA1 Coil Over Shock, Custom CAD designed and built steel tube chassis with powdercoating by Extreme Powdercoating, 18” Colorado Custom wheels, and G Force T/A, rear: 255/40ZR18 front: 235/40ZR18 tires.
This monster is seriously sick and I can’t wait to drive it and report back on it’s performance. I know there have been attempts at this genre before (think T-rex) but It kinda takes on a different meaning when it’s hand designed and custom built from the ground up. So, that leads me to think this might be the market for this type of vehicle, as a kit car. I’m a genius!
