i am the third (and last) owner of this blog to make their first post. maybe because i’m the perfectionist and i wanted to make it a great written word to speak my mind over the new medium we have put out into the world via multiple blog-a-rithmic equations. or maybe because i’ve spent the last few online visitations re-designing the look and re-writing the overall objective of why you should be reading this. i can almost bet my new house on the fact that outside of lane and adam, there isn’t anyone else on this massive wave we call the world wide web looking at this blog and taking anything from it. but i am willing to take a screen picture of this statement now and wonder if i can repeat that same statement one year from now without getting a crap-ton of replies pleading the approval of what we are doing and that it’s making a difference in someone’s life.
speaking of life, i am getting married this august and i am having troubles dealing with my folks in ohio. i just got off the phone with my mom who had been complaining of how much debt she has and how disappointed she’d be if she missed the beatles-music-themed cirque-du-so-gay show in vegas. really? one of your three kids is getting married and all you can witch about is how many bills you have and how cool the rubberband kids in vegas can bend to ‘let it be’? you, mom, fall in the list of people with priorities so bent in a funhouse mirror that this two-wheeled ride for $77K seems like just buying a pack of gum from a street vendor.
money seems to be the tension behind lot of things nowadays. the economy is muckier than the melting dirty snow in the storm sewer on the nearest curb, yet people are still buying things from a motor company called ‘confederate’. talk about contradict-a-momish ideals…70 man hours to hand construct this bike, yet that man’s salary couldn’t even come a lottery scratch-off nickel’s swipe close to seeing an outdoor view in the mirrors of the very machine he’s crafting.
i guess everyone has a sincere passion for something in life. and, yes, i hope everyone follows (within reason) that passion with whole-hearted agression, while stacking their priority deck of cards to favor the true loves in their life.
which brings me to our blogline: “learn the roots you grow from and grow the new roots you learn.”
until i plant again….
